CONSERVE WATER UPDATE | 20 FEBRUARY 2025
Dear Residents,
We hope you're all doing well. We have an important update regarding the conserve water notice.
This notice applies to residents in: Greymouth, Cobden, Blaketown, Boddytown, Karoro, South Beach, Paroa, Kaiata, Dobson, Taylorville, Stillwater, Runanga, Dunollie, Coal Creek, Rapahoe, and Blackball.
Thanks to the recent rain and reduced demand, our reservoir levels have improved. However, with another extended period of dry weather expected, it's still too early to lift the conserve water notice. Therefore, the notice will remain in place.
How You Can Help:
Our team is diligently working on fixing leaks. If you notice any leaks, please report them immediately by calling us at 03 769 8600 or using the Snap Send Solve app. Repairs will be prioritised based on urgency.
Water Saving Tips:
- Take shorter showers
- Turn off the tap while brushing your teeth
- Fix any leaks in your home as soon as possible
- Use a broom instead of a hose to clean driveways and sidewalks
- Hold off on washing your house or car until the notice is lifted
- Collect rainwater for gardening if possible
- Only run dishwashers and washing machines with full loads
We appreciate all efforts to reduce water usage. Every little bit helps! Water conservation is critical to help maintain reservoir levels and stabilise our water supply. Please use water wisely.
We will continue to monitor the situation and will provide a further update early next week.
Thank you for your continued support and understanding.
