Notice of Dog Registration Fees for the 2023/24 Financial Year

Notice is hereby given that pursuant to Section 37 of the Dog Control Act 1996, Grey District Council at its meeting held on 29 June 2023 set the following dog control fees (incl. GST) for the year of 1 July 2023 to 30 June 2024. Owners are required to register their dogs, aged 3 months and over, by 31 July of each year; failing which an additional late fee of 50% of the base fee will apply.

Pet Dogs - $120.00
Desexed Dogs - $90.00
(A veterinarian certificate is required to be eligible for the reduced fee for desexed dogs)
Working Dog - $51.00
Dangerous Dog - $135.00
Replacement Registration Tag - $ 3.50
Registration is payable on or after 1 July 2023.

Government-issued SuperGold cardholders will be eligible for a 20% discount for the registration of pet dogs and desexed dogs, where the registration is fully paid on or before 31 July 2023.
