Blackball Water Supply Update

Council is actively working towards the replacement of the intake gallery pipework, to ensure adequate water supply capacity, for the upcoming summer period. Further discussion with the consenting authority has resulted in the likely need for additional consenting to complete the works.

The Blackball Water Supply has shown a significant increase in demand over the last several weeks. Planning is in place to complete leak detection work within the reticulation to determine if any leaks are present. We ask consumers to be mindful of water use and confirm the Conserve Water Notice is still in place.

We continue to monitor weather forecasts and look for an opportunity to complete the work during a period of settled weather. We hope to be in a position to provide more detail around likely start dates to the community in next week’s update.
