Another successful year for Mayors Taskforce For Jobs
MTFJ Chair Max Baxter says the efforts of the local taskforce in placing young people from the community into employment have been commendable.
He said the target for the F24 Financial Year was 38 sustainable. Baxter says the accomplishment has made a real and positive difference in the lives of many young individuals and families within the community.
Grey District Mayor Tania Gibson says she’s proud of the effort the team has put in over the last twelve months.
“The Taskforce has used all its allocated budget and has made an incredible difference in the lives of the young people in our community. I take great delight in meeting those who come through the taskforce and watch their development and career progression with pride.
“To exceed the targeted placements and have every one of them reach the critical milestone of 91 days in employment is a massive achievement for the team and the young people involved. Congratulations are due all around.”
MTFJ Coordinator Serena Moles says being a part of the journey into employment for the young people of the district is a real honour.
“It’s amazing to be able to meet, mentor and assist these wonderful young people into the next stage of their lives. We are privileged to be able to share this journey, and the credit really does have to go to them. They put in the work and make the commitment and we’re lucky to be able to help in any way we can.
“MTFJ is committed to reducing youth unemployment and creating sustainable job opportunities. We look forward to assisting as many, if not more, young people in the next financial year.”
