PLANNED WATER WORKS: FRIDAY 21 JUNE | RUNANGA/COAL CREEK
Council identified a water leak near Coal Creek on the Runanga 200ml PVC trunkmain late today.
After reviewing the leak and considering reservoir storage levels, Council has opted to delay the repair overnight. This will allow us to fill the reservoir and be better placed to provide reservoir-only supply throughout the leak repair tomorrow morning.
Our contractor will be onsite form 8:30am tomorrow (Friday 21 June).
Water will be shut off between 9am and 1pm to complete repair works. During this time, water for Runanga, Dunollie and Rapahoe will be supplied form reservoir only.
Properties in the area of Coal Creek between Taylorville Road and the entrance of Runanga (south side) may not have water or receive low water pressure.
Following the repair, consumers may see aerated water (‘milky’ looking in a glass). If this happens, please run a tap for a short period to assist with clearing air form the system. Dis-coloured water is also possible, but our contractor will carry out required flushing of the trunkmain to limit any potential effects.
We'l keep an eye on the situation overnight, and if the it escalates, work will start immediately. If this happens, we'll update you as soon as we can.
Thank you for your patience while we get this sorted.
