Each year, the Library organises a Poetry Competition to celebrate Phantom Billstickers National Poetry Day in August and invites local poetry lovers to enter.
The writer of the most engaging poem within each age category, as decided by our guest judge, wins a prize!
Participants are invited to join fellow poets for an evening celebrating poetry at the Library, where they can read aloud their poems or listen to others! Prize-winning poems are also read at two local rest homes.
Details: Free. Open to Grey District residents only. Age categories are up to 8 years old; 9 to 13; 14 to 17; and 18 years and over. Poems can be on any topic. One poem per person.
