Planning & Resource Consents

To ensure a Resource Consent or Building Consent is processed before Christmas, applications need to be submitted before 5pm Friday 22 November 2024 (barring any requests for further information or affected parties which stop the processing clock).

The Planning Department looks after resource consents and the preparation and monitoring of the District Plan. Providing advice is a major component of these activities.

Please check with Council before you start a project or activity that may need consent or licence under any legislation or bylaw. The cost of a consent or licence is often far less compared to the cost if Council has to make corrections to get compliance.
