What happens if I have forgotten to bring my library card?
We can still issue you your books provided you have sufficient identification.
I have lost my card - how do I get a new one?
Come to the Library with personal identification and we can provide you with a new card and cancel your old one. A $6.00 re-stocking and processing fee applies to card replacements.
Do you have a special card for teachers?
Yes, teachers, with the permission of the school principal, can apply for a teacher's card for borrowing classroom resources. We also welcome visits from classes and pre-schools. Please contact the Library for enquiries and to make arrangements.
Can I renew items?
Yes, you can renew items in the Library (you do not need to have the items with you), by phone, using our App (see here) or online using your Library Card number and PIN. Renewing an item renews it for its original loan period. Please note that any initial charges will apply to renewed items, i.e. rental charges. Items can be renewed up to three times. If other members have reserved and are waiting for the item, it cannot be renewed.
To renew online:
- Go to https://ent.kotui.org.nz/client/en_AU/grey
- Click 'My Account' in the top right corner
- Enter your Library Card number and PIN to log in
- Go to the 'Checkouts' tab, and
- Select any items you wish to renew and click 'Renew' and select 'Yes'.
A message will now appear under each item to let you know if your renewal was successful.
I have tried to renew books online and need a PIN number - how do I get one?
If you have forgotten or do not know your PIN, click 'Forgotten your PIN?' on the log-in page (for this, see question 'Can I renew items' above) and enter your Library Card number. The system will then send reset instructions to the email address linked to your account. If you have not linked an email address to your account or encounter any other problems, please come into the Library with your card and we will assist you with resetting your PIN number.
What happens if I lose or damage a library item?
In either of these events, contact us at the Library so that we can assess the situation. Please note that a processing fee of $10 per item will be added to a lost item charge.
I lost a book (or other item) and had to pay for it. I have found it - can I get a refund?
