Reading with Mrs Higgins | Tuesdays, 3pm to 4pm |
Mrs Higgins who comes to the Library on Tuesday afternoons with her owner Katie Shannon, and is available for children to read aloud to her. Research has shown that children can increase in reading confidence when reading aloud to a dog - the dog doesn't put any pressure on the reader and creates a non-judgmental audience "dogs listen attentively, do not laugh, judge or criticise (and) allow children to proceed at their own pace". | |
Storytime | Thursdays, 10am to 10.30am (during term time) |
A relaxed and fun session of stories, rhymes, songs, and dancing for pre-schoolers. All welcome. |
