Update on Grey District water supplies.
Update on Grey District water supplies.
Recent rainfall has been minimal, but has resulted in the easing of pressure on water treatment plants. Demand across Council’s water supplies is starting to reduce, however Council staff are still monitoring demand very closely. A heavy rain forecast has been issued for next week so we are anticipating a further reduction in demand if rain eventuates. River and Creek levels are continuing to drop, as a result of the extended fine period.
We are reviewing the current conserve water notice for the Blackball Water Supply. A decision around whether the notice can be lifted, will be made on Thursday 27 January 2022.
We ask that all consumers within the District are mindful of their water use during this ongoing period of fine weather and appreciate the efforts of people in the community doing their part and for their patience.
