Waitangi Weekend Operational Hours

Sunday 6 February 2022 is Waitangi Day and a public holiday. With the holiday falling on a weekend it will be observed on Monday 7 February 2022. Please see below for opening hours for Council services and facilities over the long weekend.

Council offices:
Monday 7 February Closed

Westland Recreation Centre:
Sunday 6 February 10am to 5pm
Monday 7 February 10am to 5pm

Spring Creek Pool:
Sunday 6 February 12:30pm to 5pm
Monday 7 February Closed

NOTE: - Spring Creek Pool will only be open on weekends as off 1 February 2022.

Grey District Library:
Monday 7 February Closed

Greymouth Port:
A port staff member will be on call over the weekend and Monday 7 February, Please call 03 768 5666 if you require support.

Rubbish and Collection Changes

McLean’s Pit Landfill & Recycling Centre:
Council wishes to advise that McLean’s Pit Landfill & Recycling Centre will be closed on Sunday 6 February 2022.

Moana, Nelson Creek & Blackball Resource Centres:
Council wishes to advise that Moana, Nelson Creek & Blackball Resource Centres will be closed on Sunday 6 February 2022.

Refuse & Recycling Collections:

Council wishes to advise the following changes for the days of operation for the Refuse & Recycling Collection.

The collection changes are:

• Monday 7 February will be collected on Tuesday 8 February
• Tuesday 8 February will be collected on Wednesday 9 February
• Wednesday 9 February will be collected on Thursday 10 February
• Thursday 10 February will be collected on Friday 11 February

Moana Refuse Collection:
Council wishes to advise that the refuse collection will be collected on Tuesday 8 February 2022.

Council would like to remind residents that the refuse and recycling bins need to be out by 7am and refuse bags to be out by 8am to ensure that they are going to be collected.
