​Update on the Town Square Canopies

Public and contractor safety remains our priority and whilst the site's current appearance is poor it’s required until the necessary assessments have been completed and the report received, only then can we plan safe remediation and/or removal works.

To date, Structural Engineering Assessments are underway with a provisional report likely in early September. Significant co-ordination with ‘probable’ subcontractors has taken place. This will enable us to mobilise quickly once we receive the report with recommendations.

We appreciate there is much public interest in the town square canopies. We thank everyone for their continued patience and understanding as we work towards a resolution.
