Labour Day Arrangements

Monday 23 October 2023 is Labour Day and a public holiday.

There will be some changes to Council services and facilities which are indicated below.

Council offices - Closed

Grey District Library - Closed

Westland Recreation Centre - Open from 10:00am to 5:00pm

Gym: Group Fitness Class on Monday 23 October will be BodyPump at 10:15am
(Limited spaces so get in quick)

Pool: Open from 10:00am to 5:00pm

Hydroslides: will be operating from 12:30pm to 4:30pm

Refuse and Recycling:

McLean’s Pit Landfill & Recycling Centre will be closed on Monday 23 October 2023

Refuse and Recycling Collection will be collected as normal

Refuse and recycling bins need to be out by 7:00am to ensure collection

Road Closures:

There will be road closures in downtown Greymouth for the Labour Day Market & Band on Saturday 21 October and Greymouth Motorcycle Street Race on Sunday 22 October. You can find full details here:
