The upper park area of Kōtare Domain, in Runanga, is scheduled to be sprayed very soon. This is in preparation for the earthworks starting for the Kōtare Domain upgrade project in late January/February.
The spray is a standard treatment for parks and sports fields, and is safe for contact with humans and animals. However, this is a heads-up to allow you to avoid the area during this time if you'd prefer. Signage will also be put up at the park to let the community know of the contractors intentions to spray.
The area marked out in blue below is the intended area to be sprayed but it will be modified onsite as the contractor will avoid trees, established plants, and waterways.
