The placement of a plaque on the Gladstone playground slide is the final piece of a puzzle for Graham Farmer, who has spent many years getting the slide off the ground, literally.
The plaque is a memorial to Win Beck who was the secretary/treasurer for the Gladstone community group. Win, his wife Pat and Graham have been tenacious in seeing the playground completed.
The slide was officially opened earlier this week, and while Grey District Mayor Tania Gibson was keen to try it out, the weather didn’t play ball.
The slide and the rest of the playground is open to all the community, and there’s a wonderful set of information boards on the outside of the playground to keep Mum and Dad busy while the little ones play.
