Sunshine Coach
Application form
The application form must be completed and returned to Grey District Council, 105 Tainui Street, Greymouth (PO Box 382, Greymouth 7840), with a $50 bond and evidence of the nominated driver's licence.
The nominated driver must not have been convicted of any traffic offences within the last three years.
Clubs, societies and associations
Where the user is a club, society or association, the person acting on behalf of the user will be responsible for ensuring that the conditions of use are fulfilled and the agreement signed accordingly.
Collection point
The coach can be picked up from the Council vehicle and storage enclosure, Puketahi Street, Greymouth.
Return condition
The coach must be cleaned inside and out before it is returned to Council. This includes vacuuming the seats, mopping/sweeping the van floor and cleaning the exterior. If cleaning of the vehicle is required after it is returned, the cost of having the vehicle cleaned will be passed on.
Age of driver
The nominated driver must be 25 years of age or over.
Approved uses
The coach is available principally for the transport of youth groups up to the age of 17 years.
Regular bookings
The coach is not available on an ongoing regular basis (eg. every Sunday).
Smoke/vape free
There is no smoking or vaping in the coach
Passenger limits
The coach is licensed to carry 12 passengers, including the driver. This number is not to be exceeded at any time.
Ski trips
The driver must be experienced in operating a vehicle on ski field roads. A set of vehicle chains will be provided at a cost of $10 to the user. These chains must be used on the vehicle where conditions warrant them and as directed by ski field management.
Reasonable care
The user will ensure that reasonable care is taken in handling and parking the coach. It is to be left securely locked and secure while unattended and during the return period which may be outside normal office hours.
Vehicle maintenance
The user must ensure that:
- The water in the radiator and battery of the coach is maintained
- The oil in the coach is maintained
- The tyres are maintained at their proper pressure
Infringements
The user will be responsible for all traffic infringement fines incurred during their use.
No alcohol
No person may carry alcohol in the coach. The coach will not stop at any licensed premises other than for accommodation and meals.
First aid kit
There is no first aid kit on the coach. The user must supply their own first aid kit and ensure they have one on board if required.
Insurance liability
Should damage occur while the vehicle is being used, the user will be responsible for the amount of excess required by the owner's insurance company for any claim made against the owner's policy. The excess is currently $500.00.
