Contestable Fund 2024: Supporting community growth through funding

The annual committee meeting on Tuesday 22 October was centre stage for passionate presentations from a large number of community groups seeking funding from the Contestable Fund.

Following careful deliberations and much discussion, 23 community groups have been awarded funding from the highly sought after fund.

The interest from the Grey community was overwhelming with 35 applications totaling $171,770 received for the $24,815.20 available.

The high caliber of applicants made the decision process difficult as each submission reflected passion and commitment to their respective projects. However, after careful consideration Council is confident the groups selected will effectively contribute to Grey District Council's vision and deliver meaningful outcomes for the community.

We look forward to supporting these groups and following their progress as they turn their ideas into action and create positive, lasting change in the community.

Toki Pounamu Education Trust - Digital Learning in schools $ 500
Greymouth Anglican Parish “The Shed” - General running costs for the Youth programme $ 500
Life Education Trust West Coast - to contribute to the operational costs of the Healthy Harold Programme $2,500
