Consent Processing Times Over Christmas 2021-2022

Building & Resource Consent Christmas Processing Times 2021/2022

Council would like to inform the public that any Building or Resource consents received after 8am on Thursday 22 November 2021 are not guaranteed to be processed before Christmas, although we will do our best to make sure all complete consent applications are issued within their statutory timeframe.

If you want your Resource or Building Consent to be processed before Christmas (barring any requests for further information which stop the processing clock), the application needs to be submitted before 8am on Thursday 22 November 2021.

Building Inspections

Building inspections will be done through to 3pm on Wednesday 22 December 2021 and these should be booked by Monday the 20 December 2021. Please don’t leave it until the last minute!

Inspections can be booked again from Wednesday 5 January 2022 and the earliest inspections are undertaken on 6 January 2022.

LIM Applications

If you need a LIM before Christmas you need to apply for it before 9 December 2021.

Legislation (The Building Act 2004 and the Resource Management Act 1991) states that the period between 20 December and 10 January each year is excluded from the working days count for all timeframes. This means that any weekdays during this time will not be counted as working days.
