HER MAJESTY THE QUEEN

The Grey District Council express our condolences to the Royal Family after the death of long-serving monarch Queen Elizabeth II.

"The Council is deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Her Majesty The Queen, Elizabeth II. Our thoughts and condolences are with The Royal Family and everyone around the world mourning the loss of Her Majesty," said Mayor Tania Gibson.

As a mark of mourning and respect and in accordance with protocol, we have placed our flag at half mass. It is customary to fly the flag at half-mast from the time of announcement of the death of The Sovereign until the day after the funeral, except on the day the accession of the new Sovereign is proclaimed.

Council has placed a book of condolence in our reception area at Grey District Council, Tainui Street for all those who wish to leave a comment.
