​Council Candidates Meet and Greet with Mayor Tania Gibson Today.

Final results for the 2022 Local Elections will be available later this week with the Northern ward a close call. James Rogatski is on 195 votes and Kate Kennedy sitting hot on his heels with 192 votes. With special votes still to be tallied up this result is too close to call and shows just how important it is to have your say as every vote counts.

Currently, as it stands, we have Tim Mora and Jack O’Conner for the Central Ward. Patrick McBride’s late resignation means that a By-Election will be held for the 3rd position. Council is working with the Electrol Officer to begin this process and more information will be released soon.

Councillor Allan Gibson returns for another term and newcomer Robert Mallinson picks up the second seat for the Eastern Ward.

Rex MacDonald returns for the Southern Ward along with another newcomer John Canning.

The happy group of Council candidates attended a meet and greet with Mayor Tania Gibson and Council staff this morning.

The mix of old knowledge and fresh blood will bring solid professional skills, new ideas and a fresh prospectus to Council, shaping the future of the district.
