Blackball Showers Now Operational
The installation of the Kiwi Camp payment system on the Blackball Showers Doors is now 100% operational. There was a delay in opening the showers to the public due to teething issues with Wifi connectivity which is critical to the operation of the system. This has now been resolved.
The installation of the new payment system supports resident's and visitor expectations.
How Does it Work:
A $5 pre-purchased fob is required to access the showers with a charge of $2 for 5 minutes like many others around the country.
Suppliers of the fobs are found throughout the country including the Famous Blackball Hilton.
The incoming funds generated by the payment system offset the running costs of the shower facility.
The systems supplier provides an additional data source on visitors to Blackball as well as a feedback method via the phone app. Data gathered on user numbers and frequency is provided to GDC by the supplier to help guide marketing, cleaning routines, and maintenance and can be compared with the nationwide data trends.
