This morning Mayor Tania Gibson, visited Blackball to thank the committee from The Black Ops for their generous donation of $2000 towards the Mayoral Relief Fund.
The Mayoral Relief Fund has been rising and it has been awesome to see the support and generosity coming in for cyclone affected communities.
Local Government New Zealand have initiated ‘Adopt-a-Community’ which matches Councils and communities that have been badly hit by Cyclone Gabrielle with a Council who has been unaffected.
Grey District Council have put our hand up to be involved and have adopted Wairoa District Council. Money donated to the Mayoral Relief Fund will be donated to Wairoa District Council to support them in getting back on their feet.
