There has been a lot of positive talk about the new mural in Greymouth, and we can certainly see why!
Artist Fi Ginivan produced this incredible 120sqm mural on the Westland Accountancy building in central Greymouth. The mural depicts an ocean wave and two ngā nikau representing our untamed, natural wilderness. Fi tells us there are 60 different colours and 255 triangles, which took her over 133 hours to complete. She says “I’ve had such an amazing response from the public. Every day people take the time to stop and tell me how much they love it and hope there will be more”.
Fi has posted a 24-day progress documentary on her Facebook page @Art by Fi along with further images of her work.
This project was brought together in partnership by Grey District Council and the @Grey District Business Promotions Association who received funding from Development West Coast to enhance and beautify areas of our town.
