New system for online consent applications coming soon
From April 2023* customers will be able to apply for a building consent through Objective Build. Objective Build is a new service designed to make applying for consents easier and increase consistency and efficiency.
Objective Build improves the ability to manage a consent from start to finish. You will be able to clearly see the status of an application, action required updates, and reuse information across applications.
As well as applying for your consent, you will be able to apply for a Code Compliance Certificate (CCC), a Certificate of Acceptance (COA), Project Information Memorandum (PIM) and more.
Objective Build makes applying for consents consistent across councils. All your applications made with Build will be visible through a single logon, irrespective of which council they are lodged with. This means Building and Construction industry professionals will have one account to handle all applications, instead of the multiple accounts they currently have.

Getting Started with Objective Build
To minimise any disruptions to you, we will work toward migrating all active consents (CCC not yet issued) into the new system. Once this has been completed, you will receive an email asking you to register for Objective Build. Please ensure you use the same email as you use for our current portal when you first set up Objective Build.
Your applications will be available in Objective Build at a date to be confirmed in April 2023. Until then, please continue to submit consents via our current method.
Please note: any applications that are submitted to Council prior to go-live will need to be managed through to accepted state in the old system. We recommend that if the application isn’t urgent in the week leading up to the go-live date, that you submit the application in Build once it is live so you can manage the process end-to-end in one location.
Objective Build has lots of new features including updated status tracking, organisation management, templated applications and more.
Information Sessions
Information and demonstration sessions will be held prior to the new platform going live.
These sessions will give you an opportunity to see how the new platform works and ask questions of both Council and Objective representatives.
In person session: 27 March
Online session: 31 March
If you would like more information about attending one of these sessions, please email GDC_communications@greydc.govt.nz.
