We are on the search for a strategic leader who will be a core member of Grey District Council’s executive team.
This is a big role, providing strategic leadership for all the support functions of Council, including governance advice. Along with support to, finance, regulatory services, ICT and community and recreation services. The position will operate strategically and manage core Council requirements such as the Long-Term Plan, Annual Report and Financial Auditing.
In addition to leadership responsibilities, this role is responsible for providing strategic advice to Elected Members, the Chief Executive and ELT colleagues on all functions within their scope of accountability.
To be successful in this role you will typically have a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Finance, Commercial or Business or equivalent and have advanced experience in an accounting role. Council experience or understanding would be a bonus!
A minimum of 10 years’ experience in a similar role including a minimum of 5 years’ experience as a senior leader. Proven experience at a senior level in a local government environment and a great understanding of the Local Government Act and other relevant legislation.
