Other Councils

The West Coast Regional Council invoice and collect their rates separately to the Grey District Council. Visit the Regional Council's website for information on their rates.

Other council's on the West Coast are:

Public Rating Information Database

All Councils are required to make available to the public their rating information database (RID), inclusive of the property owner/s name and postal address. Owners can request for their name and/or postal address to be withheld from the Public RID. This request must be made in writing to: The Rates Officer, Grey District Council, PO Box 382, Greymouth 7840.

If you move address

If you have recently moved, please notify your change of address to Council as soon as possible so that your details can be updated on the rates database. Phone 03 769 8600 or email rates@greydc.govt.nz.

Rates arrears

If you are behind on your rates, the Council is always happy to discuss a payment plan to assist getting up to date. Please contact the Rating Department as soon as possible to arrange an appropriate repayment plan on a weekly, fortnightly or monthly basis, which may help reduce future penalty levies.
