Kerbside Bin Collection
Excess refuse can be disposed of free of charge at McLeans Pitt Landfill & Recycling Centre in a rubbish bag provided it has a Council tie on it.
Note: Rubbish bag ties have been discontinued are are no longer available to purchase at Council, however those residents who have old ties are still able to use them and they are accepted at McLeansPitt Landfill & Recycling Centre.
Excess recycling can be disposed of free of charge at any of the Resource Centres or McLeans Pitt Landfill & Recycling Centre
Excess glass can be disposed of free of charge at any of the resource centres, McLeans Pitt Landfill & Recycling Centre or the Preston Road Glass Recycling Centre.
Important conditions
- Bins & Crates must be out by 7am and in by 7pm to ensure collection.
- Bins & crates must not be over-filled, and the lids must be closed.
Bin/crate placement
Bins and crates should be put out close to the kerb, preferably one metre apart and one metre from other objects, and unobstructed by vehicles, trees or power poles. Handles should face the house.

Missed, stolen or damaged bins/crates
For missed collections, damaged, missing or stolen bins/crates, please contact the Council on 03 769 8600. You will be required to pay costs only if the bin is damaged due to negligence.
